Arrangements for Meraj-Un-Nabi (SAW) reviewed at Shopian

In connection with the celebration of upcoming Meraj-un-Nabi (SAW), the Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Shopian, Dr. Zakir Hussain Faaz today chaired a meeting of officers at Mini- Secretariat, here to finalize the arrangements being made by all line departments for smooth functioning of the auspicious day.

The ADC sought feedback from concerned officers regarding the arrangements of electricity, water supply, cleanliness, transport, parking and medical facilities etc. being put in place for the celebration of Shab-e-Meraj at various shrines and mosques of the district.

He directed the officers of all line departments to ensure adequate arrangements for smooth conduct of the pious day at the shrines of Asar-i- Sharief Pinjoora, Shopian, Arhama Shopian and other prominent religious places for the devotees particularly during the night of Shab.

With regard to adequate supply of water, the ADC directed the Jal Shakti department to ensure adequate water supply. Similarly, Ex. Engineer of KPDCL was directed to ensure uninterrupted power supply during the auspicious day.

The ADC directed the MC officials to ensure proper cleanliness in and around the shrines and Mosques. The concerned officers of MC Shopian were also directed to arrange heating arrangements keeping in view the cold winter. He directed concerned departments to ensure clearance of snow on roads.

The CMO Shopian was asked to keep ambulances standby at main sites where large congregations are expected as per past practice.

With regard to Traffic and Parking facilities, the ADC directed the ARTO Shopian and Traffic Police authorities for ensuring hassle-free traffic movement of the devotees, besides making adequate facilities at the designated places for parking of the vehicles.
