Srinagar, Oct 03: General Commanding Officer (GOC) Jammu based Rising Star Corps Thursday assessed the Operational Preparedness of units deployed in Bani & Machedi Sectors in Kathua districts of Jammu region.
Lt Col Suneel Bartwal, PRO Defense Jammu said that GOC Rising Star Corps assessed the Operational Preparedness of units deployed in Bani & Machedi Sectors, Kathua.
He commended all ranks for their dedication & professionalism in execution of Operations.
The PRO said that GOC White Knight Corps along with GOC CIF(Delta) visit-ed Corps Battle School, Bhalra and reviewed the training and preparedness of AssamRifles.
“GOC interacted with the troops and was appreciative of their commitment during intense and rigorous training,” he said.
Pertinent to mention here, earlier on Sep 11, two unidenti-fied terrorists were killed in an encounter with security forces at Khandara Top in Basantgarh, near the border of Udhampur and Kathua districts.
This was the first successful operation in the Basantgarh-Machedi region, where six security personnel have been killed in various attacks since July 8.
In the past two months, nearly a dozen people, including two Army Captains and seven soldiers, have lost their lives in separate terrorist attacks across the upper reaches of Doda, Udhampur, and Kathua districts.
