Srinagar, Aug 16: In response to recent terror attacks and to counter infiltration along the Line of Control (LoC) and International Border, the Indian Army has deployed state-of-the-art Armado light vehicles equipped with advanced surveillance equipment and weapons in various districts of the Jammu region.
A senior Army officer told Rising Kashmir that in response to recent terror attacks in the Jammu region, the Army has placed special patrol teams on high alert along the Line of Control, with advancements.
“Army is maintaining a vigilant watch to prevent infiltration. There are some intelligences that terrorist organizations like Lashkar and Jaish are planning to infiltrate terrorists into Jammu and Kashmir. We are alert and ready to foil any such attempt,” he said.

Following recent terrorist attacks in Rajouri, Poonch, Doda, Udhampur, and Kathua in Jammu, the Army has redeployed units with armored vehicles, including new Quick Reaction Teams (QRTs), in these areas.
“These QRTs are strategically positioned in locations with the highest observed terrorist presence. Each QRT team consists of a group of soldiers, ready to respond immediately to any incident on the LoC,” he added.

“It is equipped with a public address (PA) system, GPS, an automatic grenade launcher, an electric winch, and HF/UHF/VHF radios. Additionally, it features a self-cleaning exhaust scavenging and air filtration system designed for extremely dusty climates,” he said.
He further said that Armado is powered by a 3.2-liter turbocharged direct-injection diesel engine, capable of running on NATO-grade diesel. The engine produces 215 hp and 500 Nm of torque, with power delivered to all four wheels through a 4-speed automatic gearbox.
