Srinagar, Apr 17: Lieutenant MV Suchindra Kumar, Army Commander of Northern Command visited hinterland formations in south Kashmir to review operational preparedness and prevailing security situation.
An Army official said that Lt Gen Kumar visited south Kashmir parts to review operational preparedness and the prevailing security situation. He was briefed on the latest operational preparedness and capability augmentation.
“The Army Commander complimented all ranks for their strict vigil and emphasised preparation for the emerging security challenges. He also interacted with the troops and complimented them for their steadfastness,” the official said.
During the visit, the Army Commander exhorted all ranks to remain focused on operational preparedness and continue working with utmost zeal and enthusiasm.
The Northern Command is responsible for guarding the country’s borders with Pakistan and China in the north and is the nerve centre of counter-terrorism operations in Jammu and Kashmir.
