Srinagar, July 20: Security forces on Thursday recovered a huge quantity of arms and ammunition at Karan sector of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district.
A police spokesman said in a joint op carried out by Police and Army, 02 AK Rifles, 05 Pistols, 04 Hand Grenades and 20000 Pak currency besides AK and pistol magazines have been recovered from a Nallah on LoC (Amrohi village) during the intervening night of July 19 and July 20.
“The recovery includes two rifles, 5 pistols with magazines, 4 hand grenades and two pairs of shoes during the joint operation. We also recovered Pakistani currency of 20000 from the site,” he said.
The official also said that further investigation into the same is underway and shall be informed later accordingly.
