Jammu, Oct 30: Apni Party President Syed Mohammed Altaf Bukhari on Monday said his party aimed to bring communities together by encouraging brotherhood and communal harmony with the policy of unity and equitable development in Jammu and Kashmir.
Bukhari was speaking at a joining program here at Gandhi Nagar Office of Apni Party that was organized by SC State President, Bodh Raj Bhagat.
On this occasion, dozens of prominent people, and PRIs joined the Apni Party in the presence of Party President Altaf Bukhari, Senior Vice President, Ghulam Hassan Mir, Provincial President, Jammu, S. Manjit Singh, Senior Provincial Vice President, Faqir Nath and others, the party said in a statement, adding that prominent social activist, Joginder Sangam; Panch, Dharamveer Sharma; Parashotam Singh Chib, Chanderan Bhadarwaj; Ram Lal Kaith; Mangol Chib; Subash Chander along with their supporters joined the party.
While welcoming the new entrants into the party folds, he hoped that their joining would strengthen the party at the grassroots level.
The Apni Party President lauded the role of Jammu Region’s Apni Party for their role in strengthening the Party and expanding its roots across the Region. “Apni Party’s agenda of development and bringing unity in the society has attracted the people and they have pinned their hopes on the party after developing feelings of estrangement with the traditional political parties in Jammu and Kashmir,” he said, adding, “The traditional political parties propagated a policy of division on the regional and religious bases to garner vote banks from the people of Jammu as well as Kashmir. However, they never told the truth to the people.”
Bukhari said that the Apni Party came into formation when no other political party or politician came forward to raise the voice of the people of Jammu and Kashmir when their land and jobs were at risk.
“We came to the forefront without care for the outcome and raised the issue of jobs and land so that it can be protected for the people of Jammu and Kashmir. The Apni Party remained successful in protecting jobs and land for the people of J&K,” he added.
Asserting that there is no justification for the violence, he said that the solution of problems lies with the Government of India and the Apni Party will continue to highlight the public issues for their peace and development in J&K.
He however criticized the traditional political parties for creating a wedge among the two regions. “We are committed to bringing the two regions and the people of different religions together. The people also extend their support to the policy and agenda of development,” he added.
Meanwhile, he expressed concern over the ceasefire violation in Arnia’s International Border villages and condemned that attempt to disrupt the peaceful atmosphere.
“People of J&K want peace and our fight to maintain the peaceful atmosphere in J&K will continue,” he said.
Bukhari also asked the government to construct more community bunkers for the civilian population and maintain them properly so that they can be used during cross-border shelling.
