Jammu, Oct 01: Apni Party Youth Wing Provincial President Jammu, Vipul Bali on Sunday said the party is going to launch an anti-drug movement in Jammu from October 15, 2023, to raise awareness against drug addiction.
As per a press release, Bali said that the Apni Party has decided to launch a movement against drug addiction in Jammu and Kashmir. “The drug addiction has given rise to the multiple crime activities in Jammu like theft and posed a serious threat to the peaceful life,” he said, adding that the police cannot handle the drug addiction alone, but the society must join hands with them to curb the menace.
He demanded that the government should install CCTV and street lights in areas affected with drug addiction so that the drug peddlers could be nabbed, and the chain of drug smugglers could be unearthed by the police.
“The civil society, family members of drug addicts, and police should work in coordination with each other to deal with the situation that has turned alarming,” he added.
Vipul said that the Apni Party is committed to fighting social evils, drug addiction, and anti-social activities in society. He reminded that the Apni Party President Syed Mohammed Altaf Bukhari had donated Rs 5 lakh each in the Jammu and Kashmir divisions to fight against drug addiction.
“We will take forward the initiative taken up by the party president and educate people against the drug addiction in a put up fight against the drug addiction and increasing crime,” he added.
