JAMMU, May 25: Jammu and Kashmir Apni Party on Monday expressed concern over the delay in holding Panchayat and Urban Local Bodies (ULB) elections in Jammu and Kashmir and urged the authorities to conduct the polls without further delay.

The issue was discussed during a provincial-level meeting chaired by party president Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari in Jammu.

Senior leaders and workers from across Jammu province attended the meeting to review the prevailing political situation, public grievances and organisational matters.

According to the party, participants briefed the leadership about political developments and local issues in their respective constituencies. Several organisational matters were also discussed during the meeting.

The party leaders criticised the ruling government over what they termed failure to address key public concerns and fulfil election promises related to free electricity, cooking gas, jobs for youth and regularisation of daily wagers.

During the meeting, the leadership also directed party leaders and workers to intensify public outreach activities and remain prepared for the upcoming Panchayat and ULB elections.
