Srinagar: Apni Party President Saturday said the party has the distinction of gaining people’s trust in the shortest period after it was established in March 2020.
“The way people from across the Valley made their way to SK stadium on our call on November 12, was a clear indication that people have complete faith in the unambiguous agenda and people-friendly policies of Apni Party,” Bukhari said.
He was speaking at a function organized after the restructuring of the Party’s Shopian district body.
Party President Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari presided over the meeting, while Party’s Vice President and District President Shopian Zaffar Iqbal Manhas, and District President Anantnag Abdul Rahim Rather were also present in the meeting.
A statement said, besides taking stock of the present political scenario in J&K, certain party matters, especially those related to the district body of Shopian, were thoroughly discussed in the meeting.
On the occasion, Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari extended his gratitude to Zaffar Iqbal Manhas for reshaping the party’s district body in Shopian to make it more vibrant and active in terms of its political activities and public outreach.
“We have to work hard to get our agenda implemented in order to fulfill the expectations of the people,” Bukhari said while addressing the function.
He added, “We have made several commitments to the people, and we ought to fulfill these commitments.”
He explained, “We are committed to getting the jailed youth released; ensuring a dignified life to the people, especially the youth; restoring social and administrative justice; making sure the political and constitutional rights for the people are restored; ensuring political and economic empowerment of the people, and so on and so forth.”
During the meeting, public issues and grievances were also discussed. Altaf Bukhari said, “It is painful to see that people are grappling with issues like rising unemployment, inflation, arbitrary hike in power tariff, inadequate power supply, and so on.”
He assured that the Apni Party will keep striving to ensure these issues are resolved and people are given relief.
Apni Party President said that the “LG administration has failed to support trade and the important industries in J&K.” He promised that if the party gets a mandate, “they will take serious initiatives to support the trade and industry here.”
He said, “We have a clear vision to boost our main industries that fetch huge revenue and add significantly to the GDP. We will give subsidies to the industries to ensure they are strengthened up to their full potential.”
On the occasion, Zaffar Iqbal Manhas also talked about certain public issues and said that the Apni Party ought to chalk out some plans to ensure these issues are resolved as soon as possible.
He said, “Poor people are grappling with certain issues, which are causing them tremendous hardships. One of these issues is the disproportionate hike in the power tariff.”
Besides Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari and Zaffar Iqbal Manhas those who spoke in the meeting included Advocate Gowher, Mohammad Ahsan Paul, Ghulam Nabi Bhat, Advocate Tanveer, Irfan Manhas, Haji Abdul Majeed, Manzoor Khanday, Shabir Malik, Bashir Ahmad Dar, Fazl Din, Abdul Rashid, Shamim Poswal, and Abdul Ghani. While as Manzoor Bashir, Zakir Hussain, Abrar Reshi, Abdul Qayoom Dar, Abdul Rashid Khan, Abdul Hameed Phalay, Rehan Aurang, Moosa Khan, Mohammad Yaqoob Bhat, Rafiq Dar, Abdul Ahad Mugloo, Abdul Hameed Bhat, Nazir Ahmad Bhat, Ghulam Mohi ud Din Dar, Yousuf Bajran, Mohammad Shafi Rather, Mashooq Khan, Mushtaq Khan, Mushtaq Dar, Abdul Rashid Lone, Mohammad Ayoob, Fayaz Ahmad Parray.
