Srinagar, Dec 05: Apni Party President, Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari on Tuesday said that the Apni Party is dedicated to working for peace, prosperity, and development in Jammu and Kashmir.
He made these remarks during his address at a joining program held at the party headquarters in Srinagar. The occasion marked the inclusion of Ashiq Hussain Bhat, a prominent political and social activist hailing from Srinagar’s Chanapora constituency, and a former corporator from Hyderpora. Mr Bhat, along with a substantial gathering of his supporters, officially joined the Apni Party at this event.
While extending a warm welcome to the new entrants, Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari assured them that the party would offer ample opportunities to serve the people in their constituency.
He stated, “We are committed to working for peace, prosperity, and development in Jammu and Kashmir—our primary agenda. I assure you that this party will prove to be a reliable platform for you to advance this agenda and serve the people in your respective areas.”
He appealed to like-minded individuals to join hands with the Apni Party to further strengthen it, enabling the implementation of its people-friendly agenda. He stated, “Anyone who wants to join us in helping implement our mission for peace, prosperity, and development in Jammu and Kashmir is welcome. Our doors are open to all, and I am confident that together, we will succeed in our mission.”
The supporters of Ashiq Hussain Bhat, who joined the party with him, included Shabir Ahmad Dar, Firdous Ahmad Dar, Aijaz Ahmad Mattu, Arif Shah, Shariq Majeed Dar, Bilal Ahmad, Aadil Mushtaq Dar, Mohammad Rafi Bhat, Shahnawaz Dar, Aabid Ahmad Dar, Yasir Ahmad Bhat, Sarvar Malik, Arshid Ahmad, Zubair Ahmad, Bashir Ahmad Bhat, and others.
Meanwhile, Altaf Bukhari expressed his grief and sorrow over the death of four tourists in an accident at Zojila Pass on the Srinagar-Leh highway. The accident occurred this afternoon after an SUV with at least seven tourists on board plunged into a gorge at Yadav Morh near Zojila Pass. The deceased were from Kerala. Two other individuals, including the driver of the vehicle, sustained critical injuries in the mishap.
In a statement, Bukhari expressed his grief over the causalities in the accident. He said, “I am deeply saddened to learn about the fatal accident at Zojila Pass. My thoughts and prayers are with the families of the four tourists who lost their lives in this tragic mishap. May Almighty grant them the much-needed strength to navigate through this profound tragedy.”
He prayed for the speedy recovery of the two persons, including the driver of the ill-fated vehicle, who got seriously injured.
