Zafar Iqbal Manhas, the Jammu and Kashmir Apni Party candidate submitted his nomination papers for the Anantnag Rajouri parliamentary seat at the office of the Returning Officer in Anantnag on Thursday.
He was accompanied by senior party leaders, including Rafi Ahmad Mir and Usmam Majid, he expressed his belief that victory and defeat lie in the hands of Allah.
He told reporters that he is determined to make sincere efforts and said that while other parties are engaged in their battles, he will focus on his own.
Manhas said that it’s the public who ultimately decides the outcome of an election, and said that there are no big or small candidates.
He pointed out that while some candidates carry the burden of decades of incumbency, he is grateful not to have such baggage, and believes they will be held accountable for their lengthy tenures.
