BJP incharge of Jammu and Kashmir and Party National General Secretary Tarun Chugh on Sunday said that the recent rallies of Home Minister Amit Shah drew overwhelming public support, emphasising that the enthusiastic response is a testament to the party’s growing momentum in the region.

“Two very successful rallies of Union Home Minister Amit Shah were held in Poonch and Rajouri region. The public has given a very good response,” Chugh said after Shah chaired a meeting at the BJP office in Jammu.

The BJP leader further said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will also come to Jammu and Kashmir and address the public.

“Mega rallies were held everywhere, and in the coming days as well, senior BJP leaders will hold such rallies. PM Modi will also come here and address the public. PM Modi will get the blessings of the people of J-K,” Chugh said.

Earlier, in a no-holds-barred attack on the Congress-National Conference alliance and the People’s Democratic Party, Amit Shah said on Saturday that Jammu and Kashmir was burnt in the fire of terror for 35 years under Gandhis, Muftis and Abdullahs family.

Addressing a public rally in Akhnoor, Amit Shah strongly emphasized that no matter how hard these three families try, terrorism cannot be brought back to the Union Territory.

“Jammu and Kashmir was burning in the fire of terror for 35 years under the rule of these three families: the Gandhi family, Mufti family, and the Abdullah family. Curfew was imposed in Kashmir for 3 thousand days, 40 thousand people, and many army personnel were killed… Prime Minister Modi has buried terrorism under the ground. Today I want to tell these three families that try as hard as you can, even your third generation cannot bring back terrorism,” he said.

“The NC has released an agenda that is being supported by Rahul Gandhi’s Congress party. Do you agree with this? The NC has said that they will bring a separate flag instead of the tricolor, they will restore Article 370, and they will hold talks with Pakistan. Do you agree with these statements?” Shah added.

The Home Minister also targeted Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi and said that the Defense Minister of Pakistan supported the vision of Rahul Gandhi and Farooq Abdullah.

“They should be ashamed of the fact that the person responsible for Pakistan’s defence is endorsing their agenda,” he said.

He further termed the Congress as “anti-Dalit.”

“Rahul Gandhi and Congress are anti-Dalit. They did not give Bharat Ratna to Ambedkar ji for years, and they did not respect him. But the BJP honored that great man by establishing five places related to Ambedkar ji as ‘Panchteerth.’ If you bring back Congress or NC, you will bring back the reign of terror in Jammu and Kashmir. Congress has always supported corrupt people. Their candidate from Akhnoor has also faced corruption allegations from the CBI,” Shah said.

Amit Shah also mentioned that their government will not only give reservation to the Pahari, Gujjar, and Bakarwal communities in jobs but also in promotions.

“Your one vote will always boost the morale of the youth of Jammu and Kashmir. Your one vote will protect the rights of women. Your one vote is to ensure that the reservation for SC, ST, OBC, and Pahari Gujjar brothers continues forever. Your one vote is to give a strong response to Pakistan,” he said.

“This election is not just crucial for Jammu and Kashmir, but for the entire country. Since independence, there were two flags and two constitutions here, and it was for the elimination of these that Shyama Prasad Mukherjee sacrificed his life. On August 5, 2019, Modi ji abrogated Article 370, and Jammu and Kashmir became a part of India. After that, this is the first election being held here,” Shah added further.

The elections in Jammu and Kashmir are being held in three phases. The first phase was held on September 18, with voter turnout of 61.13 pc. The subsequent phases are scheduled on September 25 and October 1. The counting of votes will be held on October 8. (ANI)
