Amit Shah Arrives in J & K

Union Home Minister Amit Shah has arrived in Jammu for his three day visit to Jammu and Kashmir. He has arrived on the foundation day of the Bharatiya Janata Party(BJP) and when the security situation is volatile in the border areas of Jammu region.The operation against the terrorist in Kathua district is going on. Besides that Pakistan is indulging in the ceasefire violation. It recently resorted to unprovoked firing in Poonch. Home Minister’s visit can be regarded to serve the two purposes. One to energise the BJP in Jammu and Kashmir as he has arrived on the party’s foundation day and two, witness the security situation and boost the morale of the security forces in jammu and Kashmir who are fighting the asymmetric war imposed by Pakistan. He is slated to visit the families of the martyred security personnel who have laid down their lives to uphold the territorial integrity and sovereignty of India amid all odds in order to provide solace to the families of these sentinels of the nation. It is pertinent to mention that Pakistan has catalysed the attempts to make the terrorists infiltrate into Jammu region of Jammu and Kashmir from past few years.This is being witnessed continuously.Pakistani strategy to indulge the Indian army and the security personnel in sustained ambushes in Rajouri and then continuously making attempts to sneak into Kathua district is alarming.Home Minister has been taking special interests in the security situation of the Union Territory(UT) to make it terror free. Developmental works have picked up the speed after the neutralisation of Article 370 and 35A.This has indeed created panic among the subversive cartels that want destabilisation of Jammu and Kashmir to continue keep the ethno-religious conflict on.Not only that successful Lok Sabha Elections and Assembly Elections have unnerved them as it has eroded their traditional base in Jammu and Kashmir.Their masters across borders are making every effort to keep the terror operatives active to drive their fissiparous tendencies.In such a situation the arrival of the Home Minister must be seen as an important move. Definitely, he will review the security situation in Jammu and Kashmir and give important directions to the security and intelligence agencies to erase terrorism completely.What will be the agenda of the Home Minister for Jammu and Kashmir, will be unfolded once he takes the stock of the situation.It must be noted that this visit of Amit Shah has taken place prior to the visit of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is slated to visit Jammu and Kashmir to flag off the first train between Katra and Srinagar on 19th April. It means that the Central Government is implementing its Jammu and Kashmir policy with a plan to usher in development and peace.And this can be made possible when Infrastructural development and security is well in place,giving people a sense of normalcy.It is hoped that the Home Minister will give a clear message to the masses of the UT for the future.There are speculations being made about the restoration of restoring the statehood.It is being hoped that it will be restored soon.Fingers are being kept crossed on this so far.Then there is the issue of return and rehabilitation of the religiously cleansed Kashmiri Pandits. What is the policy of the Home Minister towards these issues concerning Jammu and Kashmir? It is hoped that he will make the Central Government’s policy clear on these issues.
