Budgam, Sept 25: Female voters in the Beerwah assembly constituency have cast their ballots with a focus on development and unemployment.
Mahmooda Bano, a voter from Rathsun village told Rising Kashmir that the residents of her village voted with the expectation that their pressing concerns would be addressed through this election.
“We lack adequate water supply and proper road connectivity in our village. We have voted in the hope that our representative will address these issues following the elections,” she said.
Bano further said that despite having completed higher education, many young individuals in rural areas of the Kashmir valley remain unemployed due to a lack of available positions in both government and private sectors. She emphasized that there are insufficient opportunities for well-qualified youth to secure employment and support their families.
Haleema Bano, another female voter, highlighted the numerous challenges faced by residents across the Beerwah Assembly constituency. She pointed out that the fundamental issues affecting the populace have not been resolved at the grassroots level.
“The community is burdened with exorbitant electricity bills following the recent hike in rates by the government in Jammu and Kashmir. We receive inadequate electricity supply, yet the bills are substantial, making it increasingly difficult for residents to manage these expenses,” she remarked.
Bano also mentioned that many villages still lack proper road connectivity, resulting in damage to vehicles due to poor road conditions. She urged the government to ensure adequate road connectivity and to reduce electricity tariffs.
Bano concluded by stating that the community holds significant expectations and hopes that the incoming government will address the essential issues faced by residents in various villages within the Beerwah assembly constituency.
