An elderly patient was rescued and transported to a nearby hospital by the Baramulla police amidst the heavy snowfall in Tilgam village of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
According to a police official, the department received a distress call from Tilgam village of Kreeri regarding a critically-ill patient Abdul Rashid who was unable to leave their home due to the heavy snowfall in the area.
“Despite the challenging circumstances, the police personnel made their way to the patient’s residence and managed to bring them to the Sub-District Hospital Kreeri,” the police official said.
The patient was later shifted to the Government Medical College in Baramulla for advanced treatment.
The top police official said that the Baramulla police also extended their assistance to vehicles that were stuck on the roads due to the snowfall, particularly in the Pattan area.
“The authorities are working tirelessly to ensure the safety and well-being of the local residents,” he said.
The heavy snowfall on Thursday evening resulted in hundreds of vehicles being stranded on the Srinagar-Baramulla highway.
