Reflecting upon her journey in securing the 7th rank in the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) exams, Anmol Rathore, hailing from Jammu, said that she always wanted to be a part of the solution to make a difference.
Anmol Rathore, who secured first rank in the Jammu and Kashmir civil services examination last year, said that her main aim has always been to crack the UPSC exams.

“Last year I qualified for the J&K Civil Services exam, in which I scored the 1st rank, and side by side I kept preparing for UPSC. This was my third attempt at UPSC. I am very thankful that I qualified for it,” Anmol told ANI.

Explaining her strategies for cracking one of the toughest known exams in the world, Anmol said, “I followed the basic sources that toppers suggest. I did not take any coaching and followed the basic procedure that everyone recommends, including NCERT books and test series. This time I majorly focused on my answer writing for the Mains exam, and during the personality test, I majorly focused on the current affairs and to refine my optional subject, law”.
Recalling her childhood days and how her parents words made an impact on her, Anmol asserted that she always wanted to be a part of the solution rather than the problem.

“I always wanted to be a part of the solution rather than a part of the problem. In my childhood days, I used to ask my parents about the problems, like the condition of the roads and no telephone connection at home. My parents encouraged me to become a DC and solve these issues, and since then I have wanted to be a part of the solution,” Anmol stated.
Speaking on her challenges, Anmol mentioned that, to a certain extent, she faced some academic difficulties in coping as she shifted from a remote area in Kishtwar to Jammu.

“I completed my elementary education up to grade 5 in Kishtawar before moving to Jammu. Transitioning from a rural area to an urban environment presented certain academic obstacles,” she said.
Recalling her time in J-K’s Kishtwar, Anmol Rathore remarked, “Frequent curfews would be enforced, leaving me puzzled. It was then that my parents advised me that to contribute to solving such issues, I should align myself with the executive,” Anmol said.
The Union Public Service Commission on Tuesday announced the Civil Services Examination (CSE) 2023.
Aditya Srivastava has secured the first position in the Civil Services Examination, 2023. Animesh Pradhan secured the second rank and Donuru Ananya Reddy stood third.

A total of 1,016 candidates cleared the examination and have been recommended for different central government services. (ANI)
