Jammu, Oct 04: Shiv Sena (UBT) leaders have expressed strong condemnation of the alleged incidents of vandalism and looting of Hindu religious sites in Bangladesh during the holy period of Navratras. They have called for the cancellation of the ongoing cricket series with Bangladesh and for former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to be expelled from India.
Addressing a press conference here at the party’s state central office, national organiser Ashok Tiwari and state chief Manish Sahni urged the Modi government to break its silence regarding the alleged vandalism of Hindu places of worship and the alleged atrocities faced by Hindus in Bangladesh. “The Government of India must sever all ties with Bangladesh, including in areas of sports, trade and diplomacy,” Tiwari said.
State chief Manish Sahni demanded former Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s expulsion from India. “Her presence in the country has exacerbated the situation for Hindus in Bangladesh, who are facing threats from fundamentalist leaders,” he said. “Bangladesh appears to be following in the footsteps of Pakistan regarding the treatment of its Hindu population.”
The party’s National Yuva Sena Chief Aditya Thackeray called for the cancellation of the ongoing cricket tournament with Bangladesh in light of the alleged attacks on Hindus.
