Will pursue new path to better serve people, says Usman Majid
All units of the Jammu and Kashmir Apni Party in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district have announced their resignation from the party. This includes the resignation of the party’s Vice President Usman Majid.
According to a statement issued here, the decision to resign was reached after careful consideration and reflects a unified stance among the Bandipora units.
“This collective action underscores a commitment to addressing the evolving political and social needs of Bandipora,” the statement said. “The former members of the Apni Party Bandipora believe that this step is necessary to realign their efforts and strategies in a manner that better serves the best interests of the people of Bandipora.”
Usman Majid, along with the entire cadre, expresses their gratitude for the support and trust placed in them by their constituents during their tenure with the Apni Party. They assured the public that their dedication to the welfare and development of Bandipora remains unwavering.
The resigned members said the next course of action will be determined in the coming days after thorough and deliberate consideration with the existing cadre and well-wishers. “This period of reflection and consultation will ensure that any future steps are taken in the best interests of the people of Bandipora. The goal is to forge a path that is more attuned to the aspirations and expectations of the people of Bandipora,” they said.
Usman, a former minister, said he has garnered the full support and faith of the unit. The members, according to the statement, have unequivocally expressed their confidence in his leadership and vision for the Bandipora. “They believe that under his guidance, they can better advocate for the development and welfare of Bandipora and its residents,” it said.
“We urge our supporters and the general public to remain patient and supportive during this transition period. Further announcements will be made in due course, providing clarity on the new direction and initiatives that will be undertaken,” said a senior member from the cadre.

AP clarifies: ‘Organisational setup intact in Bandipora’
Apni Party on Thursday clarified that the party’s organisational setup with its “vibrant cadre” is intact in Bandipora district, despite a senior leader and his “personal workers” resigning from the party membership.
In a statement issued here, the party’s district president Bandipora, Shafat Kazmi Kazmi said, “Usman Majid sahib, along with his workers, has resigned from the party membership; however, the party remains intact in the district. Even though Usman Sahib has quit the party, the rest of the leaders and grassroots-level workers are enthusiastically vibrant and will continue to pursue the party’s people-friendly agenda.”
He added, “I strongly reject the baseless and misleading media reports suggesting that all the party units in Bandipora have resigned. Our organizational setup is intact, and we are taking measures to strengthen the party further in the district.”

We are with JKAP: Imtiyaz Parray
Jammu and Kashmir Apni Party’s senior leader and constituency in-charge for Sonawari, Imtiyaz Parray on Thursday rejected the “rumours of mass resignation” by party members in Bandipora district.
In a statement, Parray said the Sonawari unit remains firmly committed to the Apni Party.
Parray said his team is dedicated to the betterment of the Sonawari constituency. “We have not resigned from the party. Our focus remains on the development and progress of our region,” he said.
Urging party workers and colleagues to intensify their efforts, Imtiyaz called for strengthening the party at the grassroots level. “It is crucial for us to gear up and prepare for the upcoming processes. Our commitment to our constituents and our party’s mission remains steadfast,” he added.
