Srinagar, Feb 03: The Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL) has affirmed its readiness for heavy snowfall, ensuring that all feeders remain active despite the challenging weather conditions.
Managing Director Mussarat Zia stated that the corporation is well-prepared for any weather exigencies, with most areas in the Kashmir Valley currently operational despite heavy snowfall.
Zia acknowledged a few feeders, including Mohra Uri, are temporarily down due to the intense snowfall but assured swift restoration efforts. He emphasized the commendable job done by the KPDCL’s team after the first snowfall, restoring power supply to the Kashmir Valley within 24 hours.
Zia, meanwhile, assured prompt response in case of another heavy snowfall, pledging that the department is fully equipped to minimize disruptions and swiftly restore power.
To enhance preparedness, the MD KPDCL has directed all Superintending Engineers to activate alert mode, maintaining close coordination for post-snow measures and power supply restoration. The directive also emphasizes the importance of ensuring field staff have adequate safety gear during restoration works.
In light of the weather predictions, the KPDCL remains committed to minimizing consumer inconvenience, assuring the public that they won’t suffer any disruptions in power supply. The directive underscores the corporation’s proactive approach to dealing with weather challenges and its commitment to a swift and efficient response.
