Anantnag, March 20: All Jammu and Kashmir Panchayat Conference (AJKPC), Monday hailed the central and UT government for liberal funding  to the Panchayat Raj Institutions under Capex budget.
President AJKPC Anil Sharma said this while conducting interactive programs in different blocks of district Anantnag in continuation of its series of block wise programs.
While speaking at a program in Kokernag block, Sharma thanked the Union and J&K government for their liberal funding under CAPEX budget.
He affirmed that CAPEX budget has been proved as a booster shot for carrying out developmental activities under all the three tiers of Panchayati Raj Institutions including Panchayats, Blocks and district development councils.
The AJKPC president said, “ give credit where it is due, funding under CAPEX and Panchayat Developmental Fund have helped the PRIs to execute many developmental works and liberal funding by GOI under the leadership of PM Modi deserves all appreciations”.
However, he also urged the Union Government for enhancing funds under Panchayat Development Fund and said the conditions laid down by the Local officers must be relaxed for utilization of these funds without imposing harsh financial and codal formalities.
According to a  statement, the other participating Panches, Sarpanches, Block Development Chairpersons also addressed the gathering and put forward their feedback to make PRIs more vibrant, development oriented and self reliant.
They also reiterated the demand of AJKPC seeking extension of the term of the existing Panchayats till completion of the term of the of District Development councils.
Concluding the program all the local participants appreciated the role of the AJKPC leadership especially its president in highlighting all the important issues of the society confronting common people of both the districts of  Kashmir and Jammu.
They also asked the government of J & K to clear its stance on Life Insurance cover if any provided to the Panchayat members.
