New Delhi, Dec 15: Awami Ittehad Party (AIP) state secretary, Sheikh Ashiq joined the Jammu and Kashmir Students Association-led protest at Jantar Mantar here, voicing concerns over shrinking opportunities for Jammu and Kashmir’s youth.
“With 69 per cent of Jammu and Kashmir’s population in the general category, their opportunities are being unfairly reduced. We are not against reservation but demand fairness and balance,” Sheikh Ashiq said.
He reaffirmed AIP’s commitment to justice, inspired by its incarcerated president and Member Parliament (MP) Er Rashid. “The youth deserve a system that values equity and merit while addressing aspirations without bias,” he said.
The protest was held to demand inclusive and equitable reservation policies.
