Srinagar, Jan: Democratic Azad Party (DAP) President for Central Kashmir ,Peer Bilal, has expressed serious concern over the ailing health sector in Hazaratbal Constituency stating that the patients were badly suffering for want of adequate health care facilities.
In a statement issued on Monday Peer Bilal said that common people all over the Hazratbal constituency were facing tremendous hardships due to non-availability of healthcare facilities.
He said there was an acute shortage of medicines , doctors and para medical staff in various health centers. The work on 50 bedded AYUSH Hospital Harwan , which was nearing completion ,has been abandoned since 2015 for unknown reasons .
The foundation stone of the hospital was laid by Ghulam Nabi Azad ,the thenv Union Health Minister in 2012.
He said 7 health centre’s which were upgraded to NTPHC level in 2014 in Phaag area of Srinagar including Faqir-Gujri, Dara, New-Theed, Saidpora ,Darbag and Chatterhama were also without basic infrastructure.
“Niether staff was deployed nor buildings constructed for these NTPHC ,”Peer Bilal added.
He said recently about 900 doctors were recruited by the Government for providing best healthcare facilities in the far Off area’s but this area was again ignored due to unknown reasons.
DAP leader has sought personal intervention of LG Manoj Sinha to address the woes of people of Hazratbal area by improving the basic infrastructure in various health centers .
