JAMMU, July 31: The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) at Vijaypur, Jammu, will officially open its doors for patient care today, August 1.
This facility will be India’s first fully digitized hospital, featuring a pioneering ‘Patient Screening System’ and a comprehensive referral system.
Director of AIIMS, Dr Shakti Gupta, stated, “The Jammu AIIMS will be the first hospital in the country with a complete digital framework and a specialized patient screening system. We are also introducing a fully functional referral system, which will be operational within days.”
The hospital’s advanced setup includes special counters for senior citizens, physically challenged individuals, women, and those in poor health. Experienced MDs and MSs have been appointed to oversee patient screening, with ‘Patient Care Coordinators’ and ‘Patient Care Managers’ also assigned to facilitate patient management.
Starting tomorrow, AIIMS Vijaypur will offer OPD services in 20 specialties and 9 super-specialties, including Endocrinology, Pediatric Surgery, CTVS, Nephrology, Neurosurgery, Neurology, Urology, Burns and Plastic Surgery, and Surgical Gastroenterology. The facility will also provide laboratory tests and radiological imaging.
