Srinagar, May 20 : The Jammu and Kashmir Traffic Police Department on Saturday issued a traffic advisory for the public to follow in order to minimise any inconveniences ahead of the G20 meeting.

A large number of delegates from India and abroad are scheduled to attend G-20 meeting-related events set to take place at SKICC on May 22 and 23, 2023, according to a traffic police spokesperson.

He stated, “The following route plan/advice is issued for general public to avoid any inconvenience in order to avoid congestion on various routes during the meeting.”

On May 22, 2023, traffic on Boulevard Road between Nehru Park and Gupkar and Kralsangri will be limited from 10:30 am to 22:00 hrs.

“On May 23, 2023, traffic movement on Boulevard Road from Nehru Park and Gupkar up to Kralsangri shall be restricted from 8:00 a.m. to 2200 p.m.,” he said, adding that all motorists planning to travel to Nishat, Shalimar, and Harwan are advised to take the alternate road from Dalgate, Rainawari, or Hazratbal instead of the Boulevard Road axis.

The Spokesman stated that in order to ensure smooth travel to Nishat, Shalimar, and Harwan, traffic assistance points for all such vehicles should be set up at Badyari, Nehru Park, Gupkar, Kralsangri, and Nishat.

“Likewise, motorists intending to travel from Harwan-Shalimar-Nishat and other adjacent areas towards Lal-Chowk are advised to travel via Foreshore- Hazratbal route instead of Nishat-Boulevard Road axis to reach their respective destinations,” he said.

Traffic assistance points for all such vehicles shall be placed at Shalimar, Nishat, Kralsangri, Habbak Crossing, Duck Park & Habak crossing for ensuring smooth movement towards Lal chowk.

Tourists intending to visit Mughal Gardens and other destinations are advised to follow the traffic advisory.

Locals and Tourists from Nehru Park should use Gagribal, Buchwara road and Exit via Dalgate, likewise one way shall be followed from UNO office, CD Hospital upto Nehru Park.

Motorists intending to travel from Gulab Bagh-Zakoora-Naseembagh-Habbak and adjacent areas should adopt Habak – Dargah- Khanyar route to reach Lal Chowk instead of Foreshore Road.

Motorists are advised to park their vehicles at designated parking places only and avoid parking their vehicles on roadside. Wrongly parked vehicles will be towed.

The short cut routes must be available for emergencies. Citizens are asked to get in touch with traffic police at control room no. 103 in case they need any help.
