Srinagar, March 10: Aga Syed Hassan Mosavi Safavi, President of Anjuman-e-Sharie-Shian, has strongly condemned the fashion show held in Gulmarg during the sacred month of Ramadan, calling it a shameful attempt to erode Kashmir’s moral and religious values.
In a statement expressing deep indignation, Aga Syed Hassan Mosavi Safavi denounced the event as deliberate moral corruption. “Kashmir has long been a centre of faith, knowledge, and dignity, welcoming visitors from around the world while upholding its Islamic and cultural heritage,” he said. “Never before has our tourism industry been associated with such vulgar displays. This incident is an affront to our ancestral values and an attempt to reshape society under the false pretext of modernity.”
He urged the government, hoteliers and cultural promoters to refrain from encouraging or indulging in such disgraceful activities. He called for strict measures to prevent similar incidents, warning that unchecked moral degradation would damage the ethical foundation of Kashmiri youth. He said the resolve of Anjuman-e-Sharie-Shian to oppose such actions and ensure that Kashmir’s religious and cultural sanctity remains protected. “We will not remain silent. Every necessary step will be taken to safeguard our society from such influences,” he said.
