Srinagar, Mar 22: After the gap of 18 days, the authorities on Thursday recovered a dead body of a second labourer from river Jhelum in Uri area of Baramulla and while searches are underway to trace the 3rd dead body.
A police official told Rising Kashmir that a 24-year-old Bilal Ahmad Reshi son of Abdul Ahad Reshi ‘s body was recovered today during a joint rescue operation. He was a resident of Arizal area of Budgam district.
Officials have confirmed that efforts to locate the third missing person are still underway at the scene of the incident.
Earlier on 3rd March, three persons were drowned after an old bridge over Jhelum River collapsed in Mohra Uri in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
As per locals, three labourers were dismantling the bridge and went missing after a bridge collapsed suddenly over Jhelum River from Gingal area of Mohra Uri. Soon after the incident Army, civil administration and police rushed to the said spot to search for them and a rescue operation was launched.
The missing persons were identified as Shakeel Ahmad Mir S/o Sayeed-ullah Mir R/o Kupwara; Bilal Ahmad Reshi S/o Abdul Ahad Reshi R/o Arizal Budgam; and Mohammad Aslam Chauhan R/o Anantnag.
