Srinagar, Sept 21: Stressing upon the hassle-free and smooth commemoration of the auspicious occasion of Eid-e-Milad (SAW), the Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Vijay Kumar Bidhuri, on Thursday said that special arrangements have been put in place ahead of Eid Milad Un Nabi (SAW) celebrations this year to ensure a comfortable experience for devotees.
Talking to Rising Kashmir, Kumar highlighted the administration’s commitment to enhance arrangements not only for Eid Milad Un Nabi but also for other significant events, including Ramzan, Eid ul Fitr, Eid ul Azha, and the Amarnath Yatra.
“As the shrines across Kashmir continue to draw a significant number of devotees, particularly at Dargah Hazratbal, we have finalized traffic and parking facilities. To facilitate transportation, special buses, including Smart City buses, will be deployed to ensure a smooth experience for the people,” he said.
Kumar emphasized that sanitation and healthcare arrangements have been meticulously reviewed and enhanced. He assured the public that the Union Territory administration is fully dedicated to making this year’s arrangements significantly better than the previous year.
Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi (SAW) would be celebrated across Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday amid religious fervour. The day marks the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad (SAW).
The day is celebrated with zeal and fervour by Muslims across the world. The day is celebrated on the 12th of Rabi-ul-Awwal, the third month of the Islamic lunar calendar.
The month of Rabi-ul-Awwal is of immense significance for Muslims due to a series of notable events that occurred during this month. Special functions would be held across J&K at various shrines and Masjids.
The biggest congregation would be held at the Hazratbal shrine in Srinagar where devotees in large numbers would offer special prayers and have a glimpse of the holy relic of Prophet Muhammad (SAW).
Religious processions and ‘Seerat’ conferences would be organized across J&K to commemorate the day. Besides, special congregations would be held at various shrines and Masjids, Wakf Board officials said here.
Officials said that the Jammu and Kashmir Wakf Board has finalised all arrangements at the mosques and shrines including at Hazratbal shrine to facilitate the devotees.
