Adbi Kunj J&K hosts literary meet to honour Ghazal maestro Sham Talib

Jammu, Jan 12: Adbi Kunj J&K organized a special weekly literary meeting at Vishavkarma Sabha, Bakshi Nagar, Jammu, to pay tribute to the legendary Ghazal writer and Founder President of the organization, Late Sham Talib.
Known for his immense contributions to literature, Sham Talib was remembered fondly for his efforts to nurture and promote regional and national languages.
Presided over by noted Kashmiri and Urdu poet Syed Akhtar Mansoor, the event witnessed the participation of prominent poets and writers from various linguistic backgrounds, who recited their works in Hindi, Urdu, Kashmiri, and Punjabi. This meeting also marked the continuation of Adbi Kunj’s remarkable 50-year tradition of holding weekly literary gatherings.
Chairman Aarsh Dalmotra warmly welcomed the participants and spoke about the invaluable legacy of Sham Talib. He highlighted Talib’s role in enriching literature and fostering a platform for linguistic and creative diversity. In his appeal to the audience, Dalmotra urged the literary community to carry forward the traditions established by the late Ghazal maestro.
In his presidential address, Syed Akhtar Mansoor shared personal anecdotes and memories of his interactions with Sham Talib. He lauded Talib’s efforts in promoting regional and national languages with equal zeal and praised the literary works presented during the session.
The event featured powerful poetry and creative presentations by renowned writers, including Raj Kumar Raaj, Ali Mohd. Bhat, Jatinder Jolly, Haji Mohd. Baqir Saba, S M Sridhar, R R Malhotra, Shamas Rajan, Kazmi, Jawahar Jyoti Rehbar, Jang S. Verman, Ghulam Ali Pamposh, Aarsh Dalmotra, M S Kaamra, and Syed Akhtar Mansoor.
The proceedings of the program were conducted by Manjeet Singh Kaamra, General Secretary of Adbi Kunj J&K, who ensured a seamless flow of the event. The meeting served as a heartfelt tribute to Sham Talib’s enduring contributions to literature and his vision of promoting cultural and linguistic unity through creative expression.
