Achintya steals show as J&K thrashes Manipur by 125 runs

Chandigarh, Oct 18: After making a splendid century, Achintya Raj Khajuria captured 4 important wickets to guide Jammu and Kashmir to a big 125-run victory over Manipur in the ongoing Under-19 Men’s Vinoo Mankad One Day Trophy at Chandigarh on Wednesday.
Batting first, J&K scored a huge total of 316 runs in the stipulated 50 overs, losing 8 wickets in the process. Achintya showed stellar grit and tenacity to notch up a magnificent century, studded with 7 fours and 5 sixes, while Salman Ahmed Bakshi contributed valuable 71 runs off 98 balls with 7 boundaries. Mudasir Abdullah chipped in with quick-fire 28 runs off 13 balls including 3 sixes. Basit Nazir (23), Dhruv Sharma (16) and Laith August (15) were the other contributers.
For Manipur, Rahulkumar though expensive took 3 wickets by conceding 73 runs in his 8 overs, while N Basant and MD Aqeel Ahamed bagged 2 wickets each.
In reply, Manipur managed to score 191 runs in 46.5 overs, thus lost the match by a big margin of 125 runs. N Basant and Max contributed 48 runs each, while Aqeel Ahamed scored 24 runs. 
For Jammu and Kashmir, Achintya Raj captured 4 wickets by giving away 42 runs in 8 overs, while Dhruv Sharma took 3 wickets by giving away 28 runs in his 5.5 overs. Mudasir Abdullah, Ritwik Jaitley and Vansh Khadyal claimed one wicket each.
