Jammu, Oct 16: AamAadmi Party (AAP) on Sunday held a protest demonstration in Jammu during which police also resorted to lathi-charge which clearly indicates high handedness of government setup.
A statement of the AAP said that the protestdemonstration was held to expose “false slogans of normalcy.”
The protest was held in front of Jammu Press Club in which a number of party volunteers and leaders took part raising slogans against government for its complete failure in ensuring safety and security of civil population especially the Kashmiri Pandits.
AAP leader MaharajKrishan Yogi, while addressing this protest demonstration, said that Jammu and Kashmir is witnessing a serious security situation in which innocent civilians are becoming soft targets and Kashmiri Pandit community is the worst suffer and a number of target killings have been seen in past but government seem least concerned towards this security concern and the only thing that the government is doing is to peddle lies of normalcy.
He also condemned the incident of targeted killing of PooranKrishanBhat in Shopian.
AAP leader AmritWattal said that Kashmiri Pandit community is the worst sufferer community of entire nation as it became target during peak insurgency in 1990s and people of the community went through a stage of pain after migration from Kashmir Valley and now again Kashmiri Pandit are the target and targeted killings of innocent Kashmiri Pandit are going on at a time when government claims of complete normalcy.
DDC member and AAP leader TS Tony on the other hand said that Union Home Minister Amit Shah during his recent visit in Jammu and Kashmir gave some figures to stake claim for normalcy in Jammu and Kashmir and he compared the numbers of killings during BJP rule with the number of killings in rule of other governments this number game clearly shows that target killings is being seen as a number by the government.
He further said that LG Administration in Jammu and Kashmir is only busy to hold events to give a sign of normalcy whereas BJP government is only busy in staking claims of normalcy but things in Jammu and Kashmir are contrary to these claims and this all clearly establish that things are not normal on Jammu and Kashmir’s security front.
Meanwhile, during this protest, police resorted to cane charge on AAP volunteers which further establishes that Government is using Lathis of police to silence the voice against Government meant to expose failure of Government.
AAP volunteers including Jammu Youth Wing Incharge, Parvinder Singh received injuries in police high-handedness.
