Kishtwar, June 25: Aam Aadmi Party J&K on Sunday expressed shock and grief over the huge loss of sheep and goats in the Tyari area of the Sub-Division Paddar in Kishtwar district.
The AAP Jammu in a statement said, “As per reports received here, it is said that around 280 livestock including goats and sheep perished in a sudden landslide around the Tyari village of Sub-Division Paddar, rendering the owners to a very pitiable and pathetic condition because the whole and sole means of livelihood stands snatched from them. Thankfully, no loss of human life is reported.”
The party exhorted the administration to grant adequate ex-gratia relief to the extent of Rs 7000 per livestock to the victims as early as possible. It urged Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar and Deputy Commissioner Doda to take immediate cognizance and take immediate steps for payment of relief in favour of victims, Kulwant Singh and others, from Joura Kalan, Tehsil Kahara, who have no other source of income.
