Srinagar, April 29: The Chief Education Officer (CEO) Rajouri has placed four teachers of Middle School Namblan under suspension with immediate effect following findings of prolonged unauthorized absence and serious administrative and academic lapses.

Mohammad Hafiz, Chief Education officer (CEO) Rajouri said “the action was initiated

after a complaint was received regarding the frequent absence of teaching staff.” A committee comprising two lecturers was constituted to conduct a surprise inspection of the school.

“The committee submitted its report after the inspection and observed serious administrative and academic lapses in the institution,” Hafiz said.

The report revealed that out of five teachers posted at the school, only one teacher, Abdul Shakoor, was present at the time of inspection, while four others were found absent without any sanctioned leave.

The suspended teachers havebeen identified as Ayaz Ahmed (3rd Teacher), Mohd Jhangeer (RRET), Vikram Bali (Teacher), and Mushtaq Ahmed (Teacher Grade-II).

The inspection also highlighted poor student attendance and weak functioning of the school. Out of a total enrollment of 123 students, only 28 were present on the day of inspection.

Describing the absence as gross misconduct and dereliction of duty, the CEO said that “such negligence is highly detrimental to students’ academic interests and the smooth functioning of the institution.”

“All four teachers have been placed under suspension with immediate effect,” Hafiz said.

As part of interim arrangements, Vikram Bali has been attached to Primary SchoolJabber Dhara in Zone Doongi, while the remaining three teachers will continue to remain attached to Middle School Namblan until further staffing arrangements are made.

He added that “we are also going to transfer these teachers to other areas and post replacement staff to ensure that academic activities in government schools do not suffer further.”
