
Srinagar, May 13: The Meteorological Centre Srinagar has forecast partly cloudy weather with spells of light rain and thundershowers at scattered to many places across Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday.
According to the MeT department, a few areas in both Kashmir and Jammu divisions may also witness thunder, lightning and gusty winds with speeds reaching 40-50 kmph, mainly during afternoon hours.
The department said the weather is expected to remain partly cloudy on May 14 with brief showers, while light rain, thundershowers and gusty winds are likely at scattered to many places from May 15 to 16.
From May 17 to 18, weather conditions are expected to remain generally dry with brief showers at isolated places. Generally cloudy weather with light rain and thundershowers at scattered places is likely on May 19 and 20, while dry weather is expected again from May 21 to 23.
Issuing an advisory, the MeT department urged people to suspend boating and Shikara rides during afternoon and late afternoon hours due to the possibility of strong winds and thunderstorms.
Residents have been advised to remain cautious during periods of inclement weather and follow official advisories to avoid any untoward incidents.
