Srinagar, May 23: Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Conference President Sajad Lone on Saturday criticised the NC-led government over the Finance Department’s austerity order barring creation of new posts and directing surrender of posts lying vacant for over two years.

In a statement, Lone alleged that the move contradicted the government’s promise of providing one lakh jobs to the youth during elections. He termed the decision a betrayal of unemployed youth and accused the administration of failing to fulfil its commitments.

“The government promised one lakh jobs in its manifesto, but has now banned creation of new posts,” he said, adding that surrendering long-vacant posts would further worsen unemployment in Jammu and Kashmir.

Lone also described the present dispensation as “dishonest” and accused it of misleading the public over employment-related promises.
