
Rajouri, May 23: The Contact was established with terrorists during an intelligence-based joint operation launched in the Gambhir Muglan area of Rajouri district on Saturday, officials said.
According to the White Knight Corps, the operation, codenamed Op Sheruwali, was launched jointly by the Army, Jammu and Kashmir Police and the CRPF following specific intelligence inputs about the presence of terrorists in the area.
“Today at around 11:30 AM, contact was established with terrorists in the general area of 𝗚𝗮𝗺𝗯𝗵𝗶𝗿 𝗠𝘂𝗴𝗹𝗮𝗻, 𝗥𝗮𝗷𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗶 during an 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲-𝗯𝗮𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝗷𝗼𝗶𝗻𝘁 𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 conducted alongwith Jammu and Kashmir Police and CRPF. Troops responded swiftly with 𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗯𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻. Firefight ensued and a 𝗰𝗼𝗿𝗱𝗼𝗻 has been effectively established.” the White Knight Corps said in a post on X.
The Army said troops responded swiftly with calibrated action after coming under contact, leading to an exchange of fire in the area.
