Srinagar, Aug 11: The Cultural Unit Srinagar of the Department of Information and Public Relations (DIPR) organised a series of vibrant cultural programmes across Srinagar and Ganderbal districts to raise awareness about drug abuse and promote a drug-free society under the Nasha Mukt J&K Abhiyan.In Srinagar, impactful awareness programmes were held at Government Girls Higher Secondary School Nowhatta and Government Boys Higher Secondary School Tailbal.Cultural Officer Burhan Hussain addressed students, faculty, and community members, emphasising the collective responsibility needed to eradicate drug abuse. The programmes reinforced the importance of youth engagement and community action in building a drug-free environment.In Ganderbal, in collaboration with the District Administration, the events took place at Panchayat Ghar Gogjigund Shairpathri and Panchayat Ghar Tulmulla, involving enthusiastic participation from local residents, students, and Panchayati Raj Institutions. Artists showcased theme-based songs, skits, and performances designed to highlight the harmful effects of drugs and inspire youth to adopt healthy lifestyles. These initiatives aim to foster community involvement in combating addiction.These cultural outreach efforts are part of the broader campaign to curb substance abuse through community participation, education, and cultural engagement.
