Budgam, Aug 11: The District Budgam Carrom Championship 2025–26 commenced today with great energy at Delhi Public School, Sheikh Pora, witnessing spirited participation from players across multiple categories.As per a statement issued here, the event is being organised by the District Budgam Carrom Association under the aegis of the Jammu & Kashmir Carrom Association and as part of the My Youth My Pride initiative of the Jammu and Kashmir Sports Council. The tournament was formally inaugurated by Mudasir Khan, General Secretary, J&K Carrom Association, who declared the championship open. Also present was Bilal Ahmad, HoD Sports at DPS Budgam, along with other association members. The dignitaries extended their best wishes to the players, urging them to demonstrate skill, focus, and sportsmanship. Addressing the gathering, the association members underscored the significance of promoting indoor sports like carrom to ensure the holistic development of youth. They also expressed gratitude to the J&K Sports Council for its consistent support in facilitating sporting events across the Union Territory.
