9 injured in twin blasts rock Narwal area; Army, SIA visits site

Jammu, Jan 21: Nine persons were  injured in the twin blasts which took place within a short distance of 50 meters on Saturday morning in Transport Nagar area of Narwal at Jammu, SSP Jammu, Chandan Kohli said. 
“At 11 AM, there was a blast in old Bolero in which five people were injured,” the ADGP, Jammu, Mukesh Singh had earlier said after the blasts adding, “As the area was being cleared, another blast occurred 50 meters away in which one more person was injured. 
Senior officials of the Army and Security Impact Analysis (SIA) teams also reached the site of the incident.
However, SSP Jammu, Chandan Kohli confirmed to Rising Kashmir late in the evening that 9 persons were injured in today’s twin blasts at Narwal.  
“The other three injured were later (i.e after sometime) shifted to the hospital for treatment,” the SSP informed Rising Kashmir adding, “Now, the number of injured persons is 9”.  
Meanwhile, all the injured in twin blasts were immediately rushed to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMC&H), Jammu, for treatment. There are no critical injuries to any of the injured in the blast. 
“No one is discharged yet and all the injured are still admitted in the GMC and there is no critical injury to anyone,” Medical Superintendent (MS), GMC Jammu, Rajinder Bhutyal told Rising Kashmir adding, “The injured in the Narwal blasts will be kept under observation for next 24 hours”. 
Most of the people injured in the both blasts were the workers who used to work there like denting, painting besides other works in Transport Nagar area of Narwal. It is to be informed that a lot of scrap material is there in the area where the two blasts took place. 
Also many vehicles also remain parked there. 
Earlier, soon after the blasts at 11 AM, the SSP Jammu, Chandan Kohli, and officers of security agencies reached the spot. The entire area was cordoned, sanitized and intense search operation was launched. 
A police officer said that the FSL team collected the vital evidence from the blast sites for establishing the kind of blast. However, the Police is yet to ascertain the kind of blast in Narwal. 
Meanwhile, the  persons injured in the blasts have been identified as Susheel Kumar Kumar (aged 26 years) s/o Ramesh Kumar, R/O Prem Nagar Doda, Sohail Kumar (aged 35) R/O Ustad Mohalla Jammu, Vinod Kumar (52) s/o Kaku Ram R/O RS Pura Jammu, Vishap Pratap (25) S/O Babu Singh R/O Kanachak Jammu, Arun Kumar (25) R/O Qasim Nagar Bawe (Bahu Fort), Rajesh Kumar (35) S/O Darshan Lal R/O Bawe (Bahu Fort), Amit Kumar (40)S/O Gulshan Kumar R/O Bahu Fort Jammu.
