7km Sheher-e-Khaas road race to be held in Srinagar today

Srinagar, Sep 24:  Sheher-e-Khaas Sports Fraternity with support of Sheher-e-Khaas Traders and Manufacturer’s Union and JK Sports Trust is set to organize a 7km road race in downtown Srinagar today, which is being sponsored by the Decathlon Sports.
As per spokesperson of the Sheher-e-Khaas Sports Fraternity the objective of the event is to spread awareness about the health benefits of sports and to increase grassroots participation in sport.
“The race has been categorized in professionals, seniors, boys and girls categories and will cover a total distance of 7 Km,” the SKSF official said.
He added that renowned marathon runners and prominent sports personalities are expected to participate in the event.
The road race is scheduled for September 25, 2022 (Sunday) which will be flagged off from Eidgah at 7 am morning and will eventually culminate at the same point.
The run is open for all competition and participants can compete irrespective of their age.
The event will be attended by reputed sports guests and members of civil society. The road race will have ample hydration points and proper medical facilities. All participants will be provided with bib, refreshment and Digital Certificate.
The run shall start from Eidgah and will traverse through Sazgaripora, Firdous Cinema, Jamia Crossing, Gojwara, RojouriKadal, Kawdara, Nawakadal, Sakidafar and back to Eidgah.
“Sadia Tariq, International Wushu athlete will be Brand Ambassador of the event,” he said.
