Awantipora, 15 August: Prof Shakil Ahmad Romshoo, Vice Chancellor, presided over the Independence Day celebration function at Islamic University of Science and Technology. He hoisted the National Flag and addressed the participants.
In his speech, he said that in the comity of nations, our country enjoys an unparalleled standing and today is an important day to celebrate our achievements, honour our achievers and reaffirm our commitment toward the development of our nation. He said educational institutes have a bigger responsibility in guiding the trajectory of the country as we shape the youth who have to take the reins of country in future. He emphasized on the importance of promotion of entrepreneurship and innovation among the youth for Viksit Bharat @ 2047.
Prof. Romshoo also He also emphasized the need to address the pressing challenge of eradicating drug addiction from society, urging all stakeholders to join hands in saving the youth. He called for a vigorous continuation of the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan and reaffirmed IUST’s commitment to empowering the youth through multidisciplinary education. The university aims to foster the holistic development of students by imparting industry-relevant skills and supporting their startup ventures.
The independence day function was attended by all the employees of the university.
