74th Republic Day celebrated with enthusiasm across the Kashmir valley

74th Republic Day was celebrated today with enthusiasm and fervour which was witnessed by large gatherings of general public from all walks of life across the Kashmir valley. 

 

Police, J&K Armed Police, IRP, ITBP, SSB, CRPF, BSF, Home Guards, Fire & Emergency Services, Youth Services & Sports, students from various schools, NCC cadets participated in the Republic Day parades across the Kashmir valley. 

 

In Srinagar, Advisor to Lt. Governor Shri Rajeev Rai Bhatnagar unfurled the National Flag at Sher-i-Kashmir Cricket Stadium Srinagar and took salute at the march past. ADGP Kashmir Shri Vijay Kumar-IPS alongwith a galaxy of officers from Police, security forces and civil administration were present on the occasion. After the parade, colourful cultural programmes depicting the life and culture of valley were presented. 

 

In Anantnag, the main function was held at Government Boys Degree College Anantnag in which DDC Chairman Anantnag Shri Mohd Yousuf Gorsi accompanied by SSP Anantnag Shri Ashish Mishra-IPS unfurled the National Flag and took the salute at the March-past presented by the contingents of District Police Anantnag, CRPF, IRP, Auxiliary Police, Women’s Police, District Police Band and school children of different schools of district Anantnag. DIG SKR Shri Rayees Ahmad Bhat, DC Anantnag Shri Bashrat Qayoom, Commandants of CRPF, IRP and other Officers of Police and Civil administration were also present on the occasion.

 

In Awantipora, main function was held at Police District Lines Awantipora in which MC Chairman Awantipora Mst Shameema Raina who was the chief guest unfurled the National Flag and inspected the Parade. SSP Awantipora Shri Mohammad Yousif-JKPS, ADC Awantipora Shri Zaffar Husson Shawl-KAS, DySP DAR DPL Awantipora besides other senior officers of civil administration/ Police Department were present on the occasion. The parade was commanded by DySP (prob) Shri Syed Akeel Shah-JKPS. The march past was presented by the Contingents of District Police Awantipora, Jammu and Kashmir Armed Police, CRPF, students of different schools and Home Guard.

 

In Pulwama, the main function was held at District Police Lines Pulwama. DDC Chairperson Pulwama Shri Syed Abdul Bari Indrabi who was the chief guest unfurled the National Flag. DC Pulwama Shri Baseer-ul Haq Choudary, SSP Pulwama Gh. Jeelani Wani-JKPS, CO 182, 183Bn CRPF, ASP Pulwama, DDC Members of District Pulwama and other senior officers of Police/Civil administration were present on the occasion. 

 

In Shopian, the main function was held at DPL Shopian in which DDC Chairperson Smt. Bilqeesa Jan unfurled the National Flag and inspected the parade. DC Shopian Shri Sachin Kumar Vaishya-IAS, SSP Shopian Smt Tanushree-IPS, ADDC Shopian, ADC Shopian, ACR Shopian, ASP Shopian, DySP DAR Shopian, DySP Hqrs Shopian besides other senior officers of civil administration/ Police and CAPF were present on the occasion. The parade was commanded by DySP (P) Shri Kunzes Dolma-JKPS. The participating contingents were representing CRPF, District Police Shopian, Home Guard, JK armed police and contingents from various schools. 

 

In Kulgam, the main function was held at DPL Kulgam in which chief guest DDC Chairperson Kulgam Shri Mohd Afzal Parray alongwith DM Kulgam Shri Dr Bilal Mohi-ud-din Bhat-IAS, SP Kulgam Shri Sahil Sarangal-IPS unfurled the National Flag, inspected the parade and took salute. The Parade was commanded by DySP (P) Shri Vikram Nag-JKPS in which contingents of CRPF, J&K Police, J&K Armed Police, J&K Home Guard and students of various schools of the district Kulgam participated. DySP DAR Kulgam, DySP Hqrs Kulgam and other senior officers/officials of civil administration, Police, CRPF were present. 

 

In Budgam, the main function was held at Sports Stadium Budgam. Shri Nazir Ahmad Khan DDC Chairman Budgam who was the Chief Guest unfurled the National Flag & inspected the Parade along with SSP Budgam Shri Tahir Gilani-JKPS. DC Budgam Shri Syeed Fakhrudin Hamid-IAS, ADDC Budgam Dr. Akramullah Tak-JKAS, ADC Budgam Dr. Naseer Ahmad Lone-JKAS, ASP Budgam, CEO Budgam, District Sports Officer Budgam, District Information Officer, District Treasury Officer Budgam, officers from CRPF, Police and civil administration and respectable citizens of District Budgam were also present on the occasion. The Parade was commanded by DySP (P) Shri Faisal Arif Rishu-JKPS, in which contingents of CRPF, JKP, IRP, JKHG, student contingents of various schools and band of District Police Budgam presented the march past. 

 

In Ganderbal, the main function was held at Madr-e-Meharbaan Stadium Qamariya Ganderbal in which Chief Guest DDC Chairperson Ganderbal Smt. Nuzhat Ishfaq along with SSP Ganderbal Shri Nikhil Borkar-IPS unfurled the National Flag and took the salute. The march past was led by DySP (P) Shri Suheel Ahmad-JKPS in which various contingents of District Police Ganderbal, Armed Police 14th Bn, CRPF 115/118th Bn, BSF, SSB, PTS Manigam, Home Guards participated & students from various schools participated. Besides Officers of Civil & Police Administration including DC Ganderbal Shri Shaymbir-IAS, ADC Ganderbal Shri Mehraj ud din, ADDC Ganderbal Shri Mushtaq Ahmad, ACR Ganderbal Abid Ahmad, ASP Ganderbal, SDPO Kangan, DySP Hqr’s Ganderbal and SHOs/DOs of District Police Ganderbal were also present on the occasion.

 

In Baramulla, the main function was held at DPL Baramulla in which DDC Chairperson Smt. Safeena Beigh who was the chief guest unfurled the National Flag and inspected the parade alongwith SSP Baramulla Shri Amod Ashok Nagpure-IPS. DIG NKR Baramulla Sh. Vivek Gupta-IPS, DC Baramulla Dr. Sehrish Asgar-IAS, besides other senior officers of civil administration/ Police, Army and other CAPF Departments were present on the occasion. The parade was commanded by DySP (P) Shri Qazi Naveed Ahmad-JKPS. The participating Contingents were representing CRPF, BSF, SSB, District Police Baramulla, IRP 13th Bn, Home Guard and contingents from various schools.

 

In Kupwara, the main function was held at DPL Kupwara in which DDC Kupwara Shri Irfan Sultan Pandithpuri accompanied by DC Kupwara Dr. Doifode Sagar Dattatray and SSP Kupwara Yogual Manhas unfurled the National Flag, inspected the parade and took the salute at the march-past. On the occasion, various contingents of CRPF, District Police, IRP, & Home Guards, Students of various schools participated in the march past parade which was presided over by parade commander DySP (P) Adnan ul Haq. Among others, ASP Kupwara Farhat Jeelani-JKPS, CO’s of IRP, Army, CRPF, Medical Superintendent DH Kupwara and other officers of Police and Civil administration and respectable citizens were also present. 

 

In Handwara, the main function was held at District Police Lines Handwara. Chairman, Municipal Committee Handwara Shri Masroor Ahmad Banday, accompanied by SP Handwara and ADC Handwara, unfurled the National Flag and took salute at the march past. Police, CRPF, SSB, BSF, Home Guards and school children participated in Republic Day function. The Chief Guest also inspected the parade. ASP Handwara, Principal GMC Handwara, officers from Police, security forces and civil administration were also present on the occasion. 

 

In Bandipora, the main functional was held at S.K Stadium Bandipora. On this occasion DDC Chairman Shri Abdul Gabi Bhat accompanied by DC Bandipora Shri Owais Ahmad-IAS and SSP Bandipora Shri Lakshay Sharma-IPS unfurled the National Flag, inspected the parade and took Salute at the march past presented by the contingents of JKP, CRPF, JK Home Guards, NCC Cadets, J&K Fire and Emergency Services and contingents from various schools. Senior officers of Police, Civil Administration, Army and paramilitary forces besides large number of general public also witnessed the event. 

 

In Sopore, the main function was held at Khushal Sports Stadium Sopore in which chief guest BDC Chairperson Sopore Dr. Farida Khan, unfurled the National Flag and inspected the Parade. SP Sopore Shri. Shabir Nawab-JKPS, DySP Headquarters Sopore, DySP DAR, DySP PC Sopore besides other senior officers of civil administration and security forces were present on the occasion. The parade was commanded by DySP Dr. Umer Urfan-JKPS and the march past was presented by the Contingents of CRPF, IRP, Sopore Police, JKHG and contingents of students from various schools. 

 

Besides colourful cultural programmes featuring patriotic and cultural themes were presented by students of various schools, cultural clubs and artists. At the culmination of Republic Day events, the dignitaries present on these events presented rewards, certificates & mementoes for the best performances shown by the participants.
