Jammu, Oct 11: Seven students were injured on Wednesday afternoon after the school bus met with an accident near Omara Morh in Udhampur district of Jammu region.
The bus was carrying the students of Bhartiya Vidya Mandir after the school was closed in the afternoon. The driver of the bus lost control over the vehicle when it reached near Omara Morh and it fell into a ditch. The accident took place at around 3PM in the afternoon.
All the injured students were immediately rushed to the Udhampur District. “Seven students were injured in the accident but all of them are out of danger,” SSP Udhampur, Vinod Kumar told Rising Kashmir, while adding, “some students have been discharged from the Udhampur District Hospital, while some are still undergoing treatment”.
The driver of the school bus said that the steering was blocked. “All this is a matter of investigation whether there was any mechanical fault or human error which led to the accident,” the SSP said.
The investigation into the matter has been initiated, the Udhampur SSP Vinod Kumar further said.
