6 persons injured in Sonamarg road mishap

Ganderbal, July 20: Atleast six persons were injured in a road accident that took place at Shutkadi Sonamarg in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district.

An official said that an Etios vehicle bearing registration number MH03BC/1472 coming from Baltal to Srinagar and Swift Dezire vehicle bearing Registration Number JK01AT /8322 on way from Srinagar to Sonamarg collided each other at Shutkadi on Srinagar Leh highway resulting injuries to six persons.

As soon as the information was received, police and locals arrived at the scene of the accident and took the injured out of the vehicles to the PHC Sonamarg where they were being treated.

They have been identified as Animesh Saini S/O Denish Kumar Saini R/O New Delhi, Sokindra Singh S/O Tejram Singh R/O Ghaziabad Utter Pradesh, Savita W/O Animesh Kumar, Schen Kumar S/O Nerish Kumar R/O UP , Owais Manzoor S/O Manzoor Ahmad Sofi R/O Sabdan Budgam (Driver), Deepak Singh Rana S/O Rajendra Singh Rana R/O Garhwal Uttarakhand

Three of them are in critical condition and were referred to SKIMS Soura for advance treatment, they added.

In another road accident an Eicher vehicle overturned on the road near Checki Prang Kangan area however no loss of life or injuries reported in the accident.

SHO Police station Sonamarg Fayaz Ahmad said that police have registered a case in this regard and further investigation has been taken up.
