56-year-old woman killed in lightning strike in Udhampur

A 56-year-old woman was killed after struck by lightning in Jammu and Kashmir’s Udhampur district on Sunday.

The victim, Maya Devi, a resident of Mora Fawara in the district, was grazing her cattles in nearby forest when lightning struck amid heavy rains.

Senior Superintendent of Police Udhampur Vinod Kumar confirmed the incident and said that when the police got the information a team rushed to the spot. He said that the police registered a case of accidental death. (ANI)
