Pulwama, Jan 18: The ongoing Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra (VBSY) in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district has proven to be a catalyst for achieving saturation in most government schemes, with a significant number of beneficiaries registered during the past 54 days.
Deputy Commissioner Pulwama, Dr. Basharat Qayoom, informed Rising Kashmir that since its inception on November 25, 2023, the VBSY has travelled through different villages, covering all 190 Panchayats and 69 municipal wards in the district.
“The journey will continue to cover more areas before concluding on January 25, 2024,” he said.
Dr. Qayoom mentioned that most government schemes in the district have reached saturation, citing notable progress under schemes such as PMJAY, ( Pradhanmantri Jan Arogya Yojna), PMAY( Pradhanmantri Awas Yojna) and JJM ( Jal Jeevan Mission).
He added that VBSY helped them in filling up gaps in various government schemes ensuring every eligible member of the society gets benefited.
The district authorities revealed that over 18,000 beneficiaries were registered under Kissan Credit Card, Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana, and Pradhan Mantri Bharatiya Jan Aushadhi Pariyojana.
“13,086 individuals from different areas of the district were registered under the Kissan Credit Card, 2,123  under the Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana, and 2,870 under Pradhan Mantri Bharatiya Jan Aushadhi Pariyojana,” the officials said.
They added that health camps and on-spot services were provided at people’s doorsteps, reducing the need to travel to district or tehsil headquarters.
“Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) vans played a pivotal role in disseminating the Prime Minister’s vision and fostering awareness about the Nation’s Development Goals,”
The Deputy Commissioner Pulwama expressed satisfaction with the success of VBSY in conveying the Prime Minister’s message to people at the grassroots level.
“The VBSY is a people’s programme and I am happy to see people participating in the programme in a celebratory mood,” he said.

Anantnag participants actively participate in yatra
Anantnag, Jan 18: The visionary leadership of  Prime Minister has manifested in the dynamic progress of the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra (VBSY), witnessed over the past two days in Block Anantnag and Block DachniPora.
The enthusiasm peaked in Block Srigufwara, where participants actively attended an interaction with the Hon’ble Prime Minister.
The VBSY IEC Van embarked on a transformative journey across Wanihama, Peth-Dailgam, Shoul, Shamsipora, Ruhoo, Munghall, Hatigam, Viddy, Adlash, Srigufwara, Trail A, Trail B, Liver, Budroo Gram Panchayats, reflecting a surge in community engagement and a shared commitment to regional advancement.
The Yatra, spanning the farthest reaches of the district, has played a pivotal role in disseminating awareness about various government welfare schemes, reaching even the most remote corners. On-ground services such as PM Ujjwala Yojana enrolments, MY Bharat volunteer registrations, and distribution of Ayushman cards have facilitated direct engagement and access to essential social welfare programs.
Citizens actively involved themselves in numerous government schemes during the Yatra, with over 2499 individuals gaining access to clean cooking fuel under the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana. Distribution of Ayushman cards extended comprehensive health cover of Rs. 5 Lakhs per family per year to thousands, and more than 94,184 citizens benefited from health screenings conducted at Health Camps during the Yatra.
Additionally, the Yatra facilitated over 222 beneficiaries under the PM SVANidhi scheme and enrolled more than 215 new beneficiaries under PM KISAN, promoting financial independence and agricultural support. The ‘MY Bharat’ initiative witnessed over 16,097 lakh youth registrations, reflecting a significant surge in engagement within the framework of the VBSY.
Today’s efforts signal a promising future, emphasizing the empowerment of every citizen and marking a collective resolve to propel India towards its vision of becoming a developed nation by 2047.
The VBSY stands as a testament to the collaborative spirit and commitment of the people towards a brighter, more prosperous India.
