52nd National Sports Competition for Girls’ Category Triumphantly Concludes: Contestants Showcase immense Talent, Sportsmanship

The 52nd National Sports Competition for the Girls’ Category, meticulously organized by the esteemed Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, was hosted from November 2nd to November 6th across numerous dynamic sports venues in Jammu. As the curtains fell on this remarkable five-day event on Monday, it marked a celebration of exceptional sporting displays and a commendable portrayal of sportsmanship.

PM SHREE Kendriya Vidyalaya No.1 Hosts remarkable Chess tournament: A brilliant showcase of skill and strategic acumen unfolded in the Chess tournaments. In the U-14 category, Arhasshirsha Biswas of Kolkata Region clinched the Gold Medal, followed by Aayusree Sarkar from Kolkata Region with the silver medal, and Korukonda Rishitha from Hyderabad Region securing the bronze. In the U-17 category, Daksha Rudra of Kolkata Region triumphed with the gold medal, while Elakshi Srivastava from Jaipur Region secured the silver, and Nisha Bhushan from Lucknow Region bagged the bronze. For the U-19 category, Adra P from Ernakulam Region claimed the gold, followed by Pournami S also from Ernakulam Region taking the silver, and Shreya Rana from Delhi Region securing the bronze. The overall winner of the Chess Girls’ Tournament was Kolkata Region, with Ernakulam and Jaipur Region emerging as the 1st and 2nd runners-up, respectively.

Hockey U-14: Jaipur Clinches Top Spot in KVS National Sports Meet

In the fervent matches of the U-14 category in hockey at the KVS National Sports Meet, Jaipur secured the first position, showcasing exceptional skills and determination throughout the tournament. Their consistent and impressive performances culminated in their triumphant achievement as the tournament’s winners. Chennai, displaying commendable prowess and resilience, attained the second position, finishing with a notable display of talent and sportsmanship in this highly competitive tournament. Lucknow’s spirited and competitive efforts earned them the third position, showcasing remarkable sportsmanship and skill, securing a well-deserved spot on the podium.

In a riveting showdown in the Under-17 final, Jaipur emerged victorious, defeating Ranchi with a score of 1-0 to claim the championship title. The high-stakes first semi-final witnessed Ranchi edging past Bangalore 3-2 in a thrilling match. Jaipur secured their final berth by dominating Chennai with a 4-0 victory. The battle for the third-place position saw Bengaluru triumph over Chennai with a 2-0 win, securing the bronze medal, while Chennai settled for the fourth spot.

In the Kabaddi Under-14 final match at the Maulana Azad Memorial Stadium in Jammu, Chennai secured the gold medal by overpowering Bengaluru with a commanding 38-17 victory. The preceding semi-final matches held on the 5th Nov. revealed Chennai’s triumph over Kolkata with a 46-24 win, while Bengaluru secured their spot in the semi-final by defeating Jaipur 36-25.

In the Under-17 Kabaddi final, Mumbai secured a resounding victory, triumphing over Chennai with a score of 33-18 to claim the championship title. Chennai advanced to the final by defeating Gurugram with a score of 40-27 in the gripping semi-final rounds. Mumbai earned their place in the final by overcoming Hyderabad with a score of 33-26.

Remarkable Boxing Showdown in KVS National Sports Meet

The boxing competition held at Jammu and Kashmir Police Public School, Miran Sahib, Jammu, as part of the KVS National Sports Meet witnessed a display of sheer skill and determination.

The under-14 category showcased exceptional performances by SakshiMeena from Mumbai, HansikaAttri representing Delhi, SpoorthiIranna Wali from Bangalore, and Deeksha from Chandigarh, each emerging victorious in their respective weight categories. Ayushi from Delhi, Dimple from Jaipur, Angel Gautam representing Delhi, Mannat Yadav from Bhopal, and Sakshi from Gurugram stood tall, securing gold medals in their specific weight categories, exhibiting exceptional prowess and dedication.

The U-!7 category showcased outstanding performance by Bhoomi from Delhi, Vijeta (Gurugram), Megan(Gurugram), Anushka (Delhi), Sneha (Gurugram), Diksha Rani (Gurugram), Vanshika (Gurugram), SanchiThapa (Dehradun), Vanshika Yadav( Gurugram), Kajal (Gurugram), Kiran (Jaipur), Khushi (Gurugram), Pratiksha (Gurugram) achieved victory, securing gold medals in their respective weight categories.

Furthermore, in the under-19 category, Pawannoor Kaur hailing from Chandigarh, Unnati Banshkar from Jabalpur, Swati Yadav representing Delhi, Radhika Chaudhary from Gurugram, Kashish Verma of Jaipur, Jesmita Doimari from Guwahati, Lavisha Swamy and Harshita Lochan from Jaipur, Manya Singh representing Delhi, and Khushboo from Gurugram achieved victory, securing gold medals in their respective weight categories.

This event underscored a remarkable showcase of talent, resilience, and unwavering commitment demonstrated by the young boxing talents at the KVS National Sports Meet.

 Nagendra Goyal, the esteemed Deputy Commissioner of the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan Jammu Region, expressed immense pride as Jammu hosted this prestigious national sports competition for the very first time in the 52-year legacy of the organization’s national sports events. He extended heartfelt gratitude to the KVS Headquarters, applauding the victorious athletes and acknowledging all the players for their outstanding performances, emphasizing the resounding success of this lively sports event in Jammu.

  Islam Khan, the Assistant Commissioner overseeing this monumental sports event, conveyed his deep appreciation to the Deputy Commissioner for his invaluable guidance, crucial in steering this event toward resounding success. A collective of about 1300 talented girls from 25 diverse regions of KVS actively engaged in enthralling battles across disciplines such as Hockey, Kabaddi, Chess, and Boxing during this exciting sports extravaganza, ably supported by a contingent of 200 escorts. The outstanding achievers were duly honoured with certificates, Gold, Silver, and Bronze medals, each recognition marking their exceptional abilities, culminating in the presentation of a prestigious trophy.

 Hari Singh, Assistant Commissioner was the chief guest of the valedictory function at Kendriya Vidyalaya, Miran Sahib. He congratulated the winners as well as all the players for their excellent performance. He expressed happiness over the wonderful sports event in Jammu.

The 52nd National Sports Competition for Girls’ Category encapsulated a spirited synergy of talent, sportsmanship, and relentless dedication, signifying a milestone in the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan’s sporting legacy.
