50 drug peddlers arrested, 38 FIR’s registered in district last Year: SSP Ganderbal

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Ganderbal Nikhil Borkar-IPS Monday said that they have arrested around fifty drug peddlers and registered 38 FIRs against them during year 2022 in district.

 

Talking to reporters on the sidelines of a Seminar awareness Programme against Drug Addition SSP Ganderbal Nikhil Borkar-IPS said we have taken strong action against people involved in drugs and its trade. 

 

He stated that during last year around fifty drug peddlers were arrested and 38 FIRs Registered against the drug peddlers during last year in Ganderbal district.

 

He further said that the co-operation of the people is very pivotal to eradicate the severe menace of drugs from the society. 

 

He asked the students that District Police is ready to help them in promoting sports & games. 

 

He further added that Drug Addiction is a social crime & cooperation of the public is necessary and stressed upon the participants to share all information related to Drugs & its Peddling in the area with concerned Police units so that District Police can act swiftly. 

 

He appealed the participants to extend their help in identifying drug addicts in their localities so that they can be counselled in better ways with the help of Drug De-addiction Centres.
