Srinagar, Mar 11 : The Jammu and Kashmir Government said on Tuesday that five filtration plants have been initiated under the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) within the Khansahib constituency, each at various stages of completion.
In response to a query from MLA Saif-ud-din-Bhat during the Assembly session, the Minister responsible for the Jal Shakti Department indicated that two water supply schemes are currently being implemented in the areas of Habbar, Lassipora, and Tosmaidaan, with an estimated budget of Rs. 1060.89 lakhs.
To date, an expenditure of Rs. 780.91 lakhs has been recorded, which includes Rs. 727.68 lakhs allocated for the procurement of pipes necessary for these schemes, the Minister stated.
Additionally, the village of Khanpora is included in the Water Supply Scheme (WSS) Iskenderpora Lolipora, which is being developed under NABARD, with an estimated cost of Rs. 678 lakhs. So far, Rs. 380.16 lakhs has been spent, including Rs. 344.46 lakhs for pipe procurement.
The Minister reiterated that the completion of all aforementioned schemes and filtration plants is contingent upon the availability of funds from the Centrally Sponsored Schemes (CSS) and the corresponding Union Territory component
