Srinagar, Mar 22: A meeting was held to review the preparations for the 5-day Arm wrestling championship to be held in the valley from May 23 to May 27 this year, during which coordination among the stakeholders was emphasized.
The meeting was presided over by Jammu Kashmir Arm Wrestling Association President Farooq Dar while Indian Arm-Wrestling Association President Hashim Raza and Sports Manager Mushtaq Ahmed Zargar and Shaukat Ahmed were also present in the meeting. During the meeting, Stakeholders discussed the 45th All India Arm Wrestling Championship to be held at the Indoor Stadium in Srinagar this year from May 23, while the arrangements in this regard were reviewed. They told Farooq Ahmad Dar that preparations for this important championship are going on in full swing, and these preparations will be completed during the allotted time.
Farooq Ahmad Dar urged the concerned to work quickly in this regard so that this competition can be completed in an efficient and amicable manner. He said, there is no room for any kind of error. Dar,Who is also co-chairman of kashmir economic alliance (KEA) said that according to an estimate, more than 200 players are likely to participate in this championship.
Dar later told reporters that in the meeting he reviewed the arrangements which were satisfactory. He said that there is a need to promote arm wrestling and other sports to attract the attention of the young generation and keep them away from drugs.
