4th Raghubir Memorial Cricket Tournament inaugurated at Jandial

Jammu, June10: 4th Raghubir Memorial Cricket Tournament was ceremoniously inaugurated on Monday at Village Chak Singha, Panchayat Lower Jandial, in the Nagrota Assembly Constituency. The esteemed event saw Youth Activist Atul Sudan as the chief guest, gracing the occasion with his presence and support.
The tournament, meticulously organized by Social Activist Pintu Chib, aims to engage youth in sports, providing a constructive avenue to steer them away from the pervasive drug menace. By offering a platform for healthy competition and camaraderie, the tournament underscores the importance of sports in fostering a positive and disciplined lifestyle among the youth.
A total of 24 teams will vie for the championship title, with 12 teams participating in the Under 16 round and another 12 competing in the open age group round. The tournament follows a league format, ensuring a series of exciting matches that will keep cricket enthusiasts on the edge of their seats.
The inaugural match featured a thrilling encounter between KC Cricket Club Agore and Krishna Cricket Club Thati, setting a vibrant tone for the tournament. The match was a testament to the players’ dedication and the organizers’ commitment to promoting sportsmanship and unity.
Speaking at the event, Chief Guest Atul Sudan praised the initiative, stating, “This tournament is a significant step towards nurturing young talent and providing them with opportunities to excel. Engaging in sports not only enhances physical fitness but also instils discipline and teamwork, which are crucial in the fight against societal challenges like drug abuse.”
Organizer Pintu Chib expressed his gratitude to all participants and supporters, emphasizing the tournament’s role in guiding the youth towards a healthier and more productive future. “Our objective is to create a positive impact in the community by channelling the energy of our youth into sports. We believe in their potential to bring about positive change,” he said.
On this occasion, Pradeep Kumar, Nitin Kumar, Arun Singh, Gautam Sharma, Ajit Singh, Parshotam Lal, Sandeep Kumar, and Laddi Baba were present.
